2008 Legend Mustang Gets New Suspension Package

Staff Report

Temple Performance ups the ante for their collection of Mustangs.

06-16-08: John Temple¹s Legend X Mustang might be best known for what’s under the hood, with that custom-ported three valve 650hp supercharged 5.0 liter Stroker V8. But it’s what¹s underneath that delivers the Legend’s superior ride and handling. Temple Performance Cars has announced their newest suspension upgrades for 2008, with some innovative modifications which to their cars apart in the performance category.

“While we devoted ourselves towards creating the power plant which itself makes our Legend Mustangs unique in the performance market, we early on recognized that what’s under the frame had to complement what’s under the hood,“ says Temple. “As we’ve continued our performance R&D over these past two years, we’ve innovated the car’s suspension design to create a package that truly is one-of-a-kind among modern Mustangs. Our goal was to create a ride that’s comfortable and fun, as well as responsive and performance-driven. The suspension of a rail dragster is great for pure speed, but probably not too appropriate for a family drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway or a date night out to the opera house. This newest evolution in our suspension engineering allows for handling those curves and rises along the parkway, as well as the curves out on the grand prix track.”

The 2008 Legend Mustang suspension package now includes:

• Front strut tower brace
• Lower A arm brace
• Custom full length sub-frame connectors
• Billet control arms
• Performance 1.0 Springs
• Rear strut tower brace
• Rear adjustable pan-hard bar and pan-hard brace.

The Legend X models also include aftermarket high-performance axles and custom differential support covers. Behind that cover you will find a rear gear differential ratio of 4:10. Temple adds, “We recommend fully adjustable Shocks and Struts, for the ultimate canyon carving machine. Of course that’s just my own preference. I’m as passionate about driving these cars as I am about building them, so I like to adjust the ride and handling attributes to match road conditions or, when I get the chance, the handling out on the track.”

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Temple Performance Cars designs, builds and markets its newest series of Legend Mustangs for the road or track; The 650hp Legend X, Legend Series 1 and Legend Series 2
