Win a 2008 Shelby Terlingua Mustang

Story by Sam Haymart

It's that time of year again to pony up the dough for the Shelby raffle!

03-11-08: It’s fast becoming a tradition in our hobby that Carroll Shelby raffles off a milestone car each year for his Children’s Foundation. The money raised of course goes to help his foundation that provides financial assistance to children in need of organ and tissue transplants or acute cardiac disorders. To promote the importance of organ and tissue donation.

This year the raffle prize is a 2008 Mustang Shelby Terlingua V6. With 375 supercharged and efficient horsepower, this car is more unique than most modern-day Shelby’s roaming the roads. The Terlingua Racing Team package for the V6 Ford Mustang includes serious performance enhancements and striking visual cues.

The hot rod features significant improvements to the handling and braking capabilities that were developed with partners like Ford Racing; an optional supercharger will crank out 375 horsepower. The coupe sports a deep draw hood, 20” anthracite “Razor” wheels and a host styling changes including the famous Terlingua rabbit. The package will be applied, with a Shelby serial number, by official factory mod shops including the one at Shelby’s Las Vegas facility. The retail base package price is estimated at about $7,995.

“We wanted to create a V6 Terlingua Mustang to offer young people a big bang for their buck,” added Bill Neale. “With its great power-to-weight ratio and superior handling, the car is perfect for drifting, drag racing and lapping the road course. The entry level car will give more people an opportunity to enjoy the thrill of competition.”

The raffle tickets cost $25 each or 5 for $100. All mail entries must be received at the CSCF office by Thursday September 25, 2008 via mail. Any raffle tickets received after this time will be void and returned to the sender along with any checks. Drawing to be held September 13, 2008. Winner need not be present to win.
