06-13-08: It’s not only hot, bad and fast, it’s the creation of legendary custom-car designer – RJ de Vera. The one-of-a-kind de Vera-inspired 2008 ROUSH Mustang GT-V that captures a modern yet classic look will be the grand prize for a Valvoline online promotion.
The first stage of the contest is to answer a Valvoline motor oil quiz. After answering the questions correctly, contestants are required to send a picture of their current car and in 20 or fewer words explain why they should win the ROUSH Mustang, named after the automotive and racing entrepreneur Jack Roush.Five finalists will be selected and invited to attend the Hot Import Nights car show in Miami, where the customized ROUSH Mustang GT-V (V for Valvoline) will be given away on Dec. 20, 2008.

"I believe we have succeeded in producing an automobile that any car nut would love to have in his or her garage," said de Vera. "We accomplished the mission of creating a fusion between the young tuner’s mentality and the aggressive ethos of the 1960s American muscle car."
Once the Ford Mustang was driven from the showroom floor to Street Concepts in Anaheim, Calif., de Vera performed his car-customization magic. He added specialty blue Volk Racing wheels and a ROUSHcharger which puts out 445 horsepower under the hood. H&R full coilover suspension was installed to lower the center of gravity while giving the driver better control around the corners.
ROUSH front and rear sway bars were installed to further stiffen the chassis to give the GT-V quicker steering response and solid driver feel.Vibrant red ROUSH brakes were also installed by de Vera along with a Veilside body kit that included a hood, front and rear bumpers and side skirts. As with all high-performance Mustang builds, ROUSH used Cooper Tires to compliment the wheels. Many ROUSH-styling components were also added, including side window louvers and a flat rear wing.
On the inside, de Vera did a redo of the interior with dark blue suede material and installed an upgraded Kenwood sound system, in addition to many ROUSH-styling components, such as a Carbon Dash Kit, White Face Gauges and Short Throw Shifter with shifter ball.

The ROUSH Mustang GT-V, which showcases a red, white and blue exterior theme to match Valvoline colors, is transported on and will be displayed by the Valvoline Mobile Dyno at remaining Nightshift car shows and select National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) national events.
