Ford Advantage Plan to give wary buyers peace of mind.
03-31-09: The healthiest of the Detroit Three, Ford announced today a new car loan program with payment protection of up to 12 months on any new Ford, Lincoln or Mercury vehicle. Similar to the program Hyundai has been promoting, the program allows you to go without making your car payment for a set length of time if you lose your job. The move is a growing trend in the auto industry to make potential buyers feel more confident to make the plunge amid a shaky economy.

“Consumers remain anxious about the economy and their own outlook for the future. We at Ford want to do our part to rebuild faith in the marketplace by offering payment protection on every new Ford, Lincoln or Mercury vehicle for up to a year if our customers lose their jobs,” said Ken Czubay, vice president of Sales and Marketing.
The new program Ford calls the “Advantage Plan”, runs from today through June 1. It can provide up to 12 months of payment protection of up to $700 per month. In addition, well qualified customers can take advantage of 0 percent financing on select Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles through Ford’s financing partner, Ford Motor Credit.
There are of course a number of fine print details and restrictions involved, but this new program may be the right fit for a qualified buyer who is on the fence with concerns that they may lose their income in the near future, but want or need a new Ford. You want to see your local Ford dealer for all the details of the program.
