Hot Products: New Finishes For Scott Drake Monte Carlo Bars

Staff Report

Scott Drake unveils more choices for the vintage Mustang strut brace.

04-14-08: Longtime manufacturer of Mustang OEM reproduction parts and accessories Scott Drake Enterprises has announced a new line of Monte Carlo bars for 1964 to 1970 Ford Mustangs now available through Scott Drake dealers.  The Monte Carlo bar of course was original equipment on Shelby GT-350 Mustangs in the 1960’s. They provide a strong-tie across the engine compartment just ahead of the shock towers, creating a full triangle in concert with an export brace. The Monte Carlo bar has become one of the most popular modifications for many people looking to shore up the torsional rigidity of their vintage Mustangs.

They are available in four finishes, including, Satin, Black, Chrome and Stainless Steel.  All of the bars are available in straight or curved versions. They feature blended welding from the tube to the plate that creates a clean, high-quality appearance.  In addition, the bars feature a 25 percent thicker tube to prevent shock tower flex and cracks.  To avoid hood strike, the mounting flanges have square holes, instead of round, where the bar mounts to the fenders so low profile carriage bolts can be used in mounting.

Scott Drake, president and CEO of Scott Drake Enterprises commented, “From the perfectly welded joints to the stronger tube design that you find on our Monte Carlo bars, there is a distinct difference in the quality of our products.”
