Products: 9" Factory's New Mustang Bolt-In Rear Axles

Staff Report

Now you can have a new 9-inch for your Stang.

02-18-09: The ubiquitous Ford 9” rear axle is legendary so much that it is sought after as the holy grail for drag cars regardless of the model, make or year. Yep, that bullet-proof stick axle Ford made in the 1960’s is still the stop of the line for those who are in the know.

While finding one in a junkyard is a non-starter today for your vintage Mustang or a conversion on your new pony, there is a solution at hand. The 9” Factory, an outlet of John’s Industries of Caspian, MI now offers complete bolt-in rear axle assemblies for all popular Mustangs.

Yes, this includes the vintage Stangs from ’64 -’73, but also an off-the shelf retrofit assembly for ’79 -’07 Mustangs. How easy are they to bolt in? The company says it bolts in like it came on the car.

The bolt-in Mustang housing can be ordered either in the stock width or narrowed. There is also an option for computer-bent “exact fit” stainless brake line kits too. All housings come with brake line tabs just like the factory units.

When ordering you can choose between a “heavy duty” or “extreme heavy duty” housing depending on your application. You can also choose between a super-light “nodular” or a lightweight aluminum third member. The aluminum can be supplied to you polished or non-polished.

Several disc and drum brake packages are available to complete your rear, along with powder coating and complete final assembly. Bolt-in Mustang housing and axle packages start at just $895, and everything is made right in Michigan, USA.
