New shops and online experience lets kids big and small take home their dream
07-09-09: If you have ever been to a Build-A-Bear workshop you know how cool it is go through the experience of building something exactly to your specs, picking from a variety of styles, accessories, and custom touches. On the same wavelength, Ridemakers is on the scene with the same concept only for gearheads young and old.
Ridemakerz recently sent us one of their customized 2010 Mustang cars to check out and play with. I had first seen one of these last April at the MCA 45th Anniversary Celebration at Birmingham. A friend showed me the new 2010 Mustang he had built back home.
Ours was fully decked with a variety of options like chrome gold wheels, flame job, interchangeable engine and hood treatments, and the remote control motorization. It has flshing lights, sounds and screams across the driveway like mad.

What is best about this little guy is that you can build it any way you want either online or at a growing number of Ridemakerz shops around the country. Just like Build-A-Bear, you can go down there and spend a couple of hours choosing what model car you want and adding limitless options and customizations to it.. They have Mustangs, Corvettes, Vipers, trucks - a lot. They say you can create over 649 million different combinations from the bins of engines, wheels, sidepipes, sounds and everything else they offer as an add on.
That is the beauty of it. You can build a plane jane Ride for under $30. Or you can go nutz and add remote control, trim, and the kitchen sink. Ridemakerz also likes to work with car clubs and groups, inviting them to their shops for special events too. But you can have just as much fun building one online at their website and have it sent straight to your door. There are a lot more options and variations available at their brick and mortar stores than online, but the website is still a great place to have some fun and build some nice Ridez. All Ridez come with an owners manual and a cool gift box too.
